Tommy G

Founder/MLB & NFL Analyst

Tommy G, Founder of Guruelite.com, is as close to a household name as there is in the Daily Fantasy Space, and if you follow him on Twitter (@TommyG) or Instagram (@TommyGDFS), you know he is not your normal fantasy nerd. Tommy spent the majority of his adult life as a Wall Street trader and educator, specializing in technical analysis and and daytrading Futures, but has now taken these analytical skills and applied them to his true passion, fantasy sports, to become one of the most decorated and definitely the most recognized DFS player in the industry.  The Godfather, as he is referred to as in the industry, began his DFS career in 2011 and has taken the fantasy world by storm over the past 6 years.  Tommy has career winnings well into seven figures, while managing to become one of the first DFS players to break into the mainstream media world, winning the 2015 FSWA Radio Show of the Year Award for his show on SiriusXM Fantasy channel with Jeff Mans. In addition to doing 3 hours a day of radio for the majority of 2016, Tommy also has been featured in countless articles on the DFS industry, including headlining a full page spread in the NY Post titled “The Men Who Make 6 Figures off Fantasy Football.”  He also starred as the main character in the first ever Daily Fantasy movie called Living the Fantasy, in addition to being featured in an HBO Real Sports piece regarding the industry with Bryant Gumble, when a watermain break cost Tommy a shot at 1 million dollars.   Recently, Tommy has partnered up with Michael Rapaport and Barstool Sports to do a weekly podcast on ITunes called "The Fantasy Football Follies," which in just it's 4th episode, broke the top 10 for Sports Podcasts on iTunes.

Tommy was the first DFS player in the industry to qualify for a live final in all four major sports (MLB, NBA, NFL & NHL) and has a total of 28 live finals appearances under his belt to date. This 2017 MLB season Tommy became the ONLY PERSON, of the millions of people who play daily fantasy, to secure the maximum number of entries into Draftkings and Fanduel's once a year baseball live finals, with a total of 8 entries between the two sites (5 on DK, 3 on FD).  He raked in over $300,000 in net winnings between the 2 sites for the 2017 MLB season, securing him as one of the top DFS players in the world for MLB.  He then followed that up with a monsterous football season in 2017 where he hit for $183,000 in week 4, qualified for both major Draftkings finals in Florida, and then put a beautiful bow on the season by kncking down 7th place in the Maimi final for another $200,000.

Tommy is a brash and raw personality in the industry, who has a cult like following.  As a former daytrader, The Godfather loves risk, and prides himself on his contrarian "all or none" GPP strategies, which have propelled him to multiple $100,000 days in NFL and MLB.  After spending the past 4 years working with some of the biggest companies in the industry, Tommy has now founded his own site, Guruelite.com, where he will be joining forces with John Hansen to provide the most hard hitting daily fantasy content around, to pair with FantasyGuru.com’s already epic seasonlong content.

Guys I think will be very highly owned, these guys tend to be better for Cash and you don’t want to use too many of them in GPPs… a couple is fine… but we need to separate in GPPs. These projections ARE NOT OFFICIAL, they are just my guess-timations. I tend to be very good at projecting ownership, so you can proceed with confidence.

Ownership projections are based on DK pricing since it is the one that is messed up...

DeMarco Murray… He is matchup proof and going against the Jags D which has been able to limit receptions to running backs ( #1 DVOA vs running back receptions), but has been gauged by the backs on the ground (#24 DVOA vs. the rb on the ground). I don’t think it is necessary to force DeMarco into your lineups with guys like David Johnson, Zeke and Booker being guys I really like, but I definitely do not have him far behind these guys as far as pt per dollar at all. I do like rostering DeMarco in games where I think he can catch 5 balls, but the volume on the ground should make up for it.

VEGAS AND INJURY IMPACT:

GB -7.5 Chi 45.5

This game opened with GB as a 9 pt. favorite and has been bet down by some big money on Pinnacle down to 7.5, so there are a ton of sharps on Chicago in this one. This total has to move up, I can’t imagine it staying at 45.5 so get it while it’s hot. We have the Lacy injury, which will free up carries for the guys listed below and we also have the GB secondary injuries, which will free up opportunities for the CHI wide receivers. I personally would Tease Chicago and the over, I normally don’t do teasers but I think Chi +14.5 and over 38.5 is the play...

Tom Brady...I have to admit, I overlooked Brady a bit this week too until Kevin Adams made a fantastic point… We were all in on Brady last week in his first game back, imagine how insane this stadium is gonna be on his HOMECOMING! I had Cam 1, Wilson 2, Brady 3 before the pod, but 2 factors have me moving Brady to 1… 1) you can 100% play him naked since he has so many options, so I am not...
