Founder/MLB & NFL Analyst

Tommy G, Founder of Guruelite.com, is as close to a household name as there is in the Daily Fantasy Space, and if you follow him on Twitter (@TommyG) or Instagram (@TommyGDFS), you know he is not your normal fantasy nerd. Tommy spent the majority of his adult life as a Wall Street trader and educator, specializing in technical analysis and and daytrading Futures, but has now taken these analytical skills and applied them to his true passion, fantasy sports, to become one of the most decorated and definitely the most recognized DFS player in the industry.  The Godfather, as he is referred to as in the industry, began his DFS career in 2011 and has taken the fantasy world by storm over the past 6 years.  Tommy has career winnings well into seven figures, while managing to become one of the first DFS players to break into the mainstream media world, winning the 2015 FSWA Radio Show of the Year Award for his show on SiriusXM Fantasy channel with Jeff Mans. In addition to doing 3 hours a day of radio for the majority of 2016, Tommy also has been featured in countless articles on the DFS industry, including headlining a full page spread in the NY Post titled “The Men Who Make 6 Figures off Fantasy Football.”  He also starred as the main character in the first ever Daily Fantasy movie called Living the Fantasy, in addition to being featured in an HBO Real Sports piece regarding the industry with Bryant Gumble, when a watermain break cost Tommy a shot at 1 million dollars.   Recently, Tommy has partnered up with Michael Rapaport and Barstool Sports to do a weekly podcast on ITunes called "The Fantasy Football Follies," which in just it's 4th episode, broke the top 10 for Sports Podcasts on iTunes.

Tommy was the first DFS player in the industry to qualify for a live final in all four major sports (MLB, NBA, NFL & NHL) and has a total of 28 live finals appearances under his belt to date. This 2017 MLB season Tommy became the ONLY PERSON, of the millions of people who play daily fantasy, to secure the maximum number of entries into Draftkings and Fanduel's once a year baseball live finals, with a total of 8 entries between the two sites (5 on DK, 3 on FD).  He raked in over $300,000 in net winnings between the 2 sites for the 2017 MLB season, securing him as one of the top DFS players in the world for MLB.  He then followed that up with a monsterous football season in 2017 where he hit for $183,000 in week 4, qualified for both major Draftkings finals in Florida, and then put a beautiful bow on the season by kncking down 7th place in the Maimi final for another $200,000.

Tommy is a brash and raw personality in the industry, who has a cult like following.  As a former daytrader, The Godfather loves risk, and prides himself on his contrarian "all or none" GPP strategies, which have propelled him to multiple $100,000 days in NFL and MLB.  After spending the past 4 years working with some of the biggest companies in the industry, Tommy has now founded his own site, Guruelite.com, where he will be joining forces with John Hansen to provide the most hard hitting daily fantasy content around, to pair with FantasyGuru.com’s already epic seasonlong content.

Thursday Night DFS Targets for Week 3 (9/22)
Posted by Tommy G on Thursday, September 22, 2016 - 13:15

This line opened at -2.5, 41 so early on it seems to be trending towards the Patriots and the Under, which is not a great look if you love the Texans side of the ball, but keep in mind I factor in the sharp money that comes in on game day the heaviest so I don’t weigh this line movement to mean too much, plus from a DFS it doesn’t matter much today because we have a fairly even line regardless and a low total. Doesn’t seem to be much sharp money moving in either direction according to my boy @mlbmodel who runs our projections and is more tied into this info than anyone I have ever met, but normally when any lines trend towards the under, it’s sharp money, cause Donkey’s always bet overs. I personally like the over in this game even though it may not be the right play. The one thing I will say though from this line is that if you think NE is going to get run off the field because they are working with a 3rd string QB, you are WRONG.

Tommy G's MLB DFS Rundown 9/21

I would advise you all to dial down your baseball action a bit. In talking to everyone around the industry, they all agree baseball has been INSANE the last week and we now have “Team Motivation” coming into play, where some teams (like the Cubs) will start possibly cutting pitchers outings short to rest them for the playoffs, and pinch hitting stars in the 6th inning to rest them, etc. I am not saying to stop playing, but understand there is going to be more variance than usual, just wanted to give you a heads up...

A lot of you have asked for me to narrow the write up down a little cause there is almost too much info to concisely build a lineup, so I am going to. Let me know if you like it better this way. What I am going to do is ONLY list players I have A LOT of interest in….so just because a guy isn’t listed doesn’t mean its a bad play, just means I am not that high on him or like others more. I will continue to list all elite pitchers tho to explain about them...

TOMMY G DFS - NFL WEEK 2 RUNDOWN
Posted by Tommy G on Saturday, September 17, 2016 - 20:15

As the season goes on I will try to get this to exact percentages, but since it’s only Week 2 it’s very difficult to do. I am going to list a few of the highest owned players I for see coming in at each position. These guys are good cash game plays, but in tournaments will be highly owned. I am fine playing a few of these guys on your team, but if you are trying to win a GPP with 5 or 6 of these guys on it, then good luck. I am going to do the chalk report and then give you some GPP pivots. The first guys listed are going to be popular...
