 Scott's NBA By The Numbers - 11/18

Clippers: The Clippers are struggling badly right now. They've lost seven in a row and are coming off a very tough overtime loss to the Cavs last night. Blake Griffin ($8,900 DK, $8,600 FD), Wesley Johnson ($3,700 DK, $3,800 FD) and DeAndre Jordan ($6,600 DK, $7,200 FD) all played over forty minutes and Lou Williams ($6,800 DK, $6,800 FD) played 37. They travel on this back-to-back as well. There's a chance Patrick Beverley could...

 Jefe's NBA Rundown - 11/17
Posted by Jeff Collins on Friday, November 17, 2017 - 16:55

The rundown is designed to give you an opinion on some different players or situations in the slate today. You need to be reacting to news throughout the day. Always keep an eye on Twitter for the most up-to-date information. The idea is not that you use ONLY players from this article to build your lineups, but rather all of our content from other articles, to our cheat sheets and videos along with our projections algorithm and optimizer. If you’re trying to only use players under the “cash” section to build your cash lineups for instance, you’re going to have a hard time. Instead, use some of those players as building blocks and fill in around them.

  • Vegas: Wizards -4.5, 208.5
  • Heat: 18th pace, 26th scoring, 9th points allowed
  • Wizards: 12th pace, 4th scoring, 13th points allowed

Heat: Not really a ton to love here, to be honest. I know the Heat are paced up a bit, but this is not an ideal game to target. The best play on the Heat is Hassan Whiteside who has been consistently returning 40+ DK points, but he’s not a supreme value play. He’s priced right where he should be, to be honest and is more of a GPP play than a guy I want to use in cash. Everyone on the heat is healthy, which is a problem for fantasy production. Dragic, Waiters, Tyler Johnson, and Josh Richardson are all solid players, but they tend to outperform only when one is missing and they all get a few more minutes. You get a lot of 5X games from all of those guys, but none really give you much upside.

  • Vegas: Warriors -7, 215
  • Warriors: 5th pace, 1st scoring, 22nd points allowed
  • Celtics: 22nd pace, 23rd scoring, fewest points allowed

Warriors: So on paper, this is one of the worst matchups of the day. The Warriors face the team allowing the least number of points so far this season. The Celtics play slow and their entire tea in near the top of the league in individual defensive efficiency, and they are healthier than they have been all season. Now, let’s not get carried away though, the Celtics may be #1 in scoring defense, but the Warriors are #1 in scoring offense. They are still going to put the ball in the basket here, I’m just not sure they are going to have massive upside. The best matchup here probably belongs to Steph Curry against Kyrie defense. For that reason, he gets the nod over Durant tonight for me. The Warriors are favored, so we want some exposure. They are an easy team to narrow down as the scoring comes from Klay, Steph, and Durant while Draymond Green is the only other guy who plays massive minutes and puts up massive fantasy scores. I do have a good bit of interest here in Draymond. Guys rebound well against the Celtics and also score well against them. Draymond is not your typical big man/Center, but he will play like one in this spot. KD is one of the top 5 players in the NBA in my eyes too. I do not want to play him and Steph together, but it’s foolish to think he is a complete fade.
