Posted by Thad Houston on Saturday, November 26, 2016 - 12:30

What's up y'all? This is the one and only RadThad with today's NBA article for Saturday, November 26th. After huge slates on Wednesday and Friday, we get a little bit of a breather with a 5 game slate today. The games would be well over if I tried to list every juicy pick, so I'll settle for touching on a couple of my favorite plays from each game...

The Wizards are 17th for pace, 20th for scoring and give up the 10th most points. The Magic are 24th for pace and 29th for scoring. They have the worst offensive efficiency ranking in the entire league. They do allow the eighth fewest points and the slow pace and solid defense make this a bad spot for the Wizards....

We have a really big slate for this Holiday eve. There are no NBA games tomorrow, so they packed a ton of them into today. I figured everyone in is a festive mood, so let’s have some fun today. I’m going to break down all the games and tell you guys what I am thankful for.

Memphis Grizzlies @ Philadelphia 76ers

Vegas: Grizzlies -5, O/U: 195

The Grizzlies are 28th in pace and the 76ers are 12th on the season. These two teams sit 24th and 25th in the league for scoring, which means Memphis is much more efficient with the pace they play on the offensive end. Philly gives up the sixth most points in the league and the Grizzlies give up the second fewest. I’m actually surprised the spread is this low.

New Orleans Pelicans @ Atlanta Hawks

Vegas: Hawks -8, O/U: 210

This is a great spot for fantasy value today. The Hawks are fourth in the league for pace and the Pelicans are sitting eighth. Atlanta is eleventh for scoring and the Pelicans are 20th, so neither team is incredibly efficient on offense with those hot paces. New Orleans gives up the sixth most points, while the Hawks are at least good on the defensive end and only give up the eighth fewest. That is why the spread is where it is.

Point Guard

Chris Paul -- Especially on DraftKings, Paul is underpriced for games that he’ll go four quarters. While this game against Toronto is a nine point spread (opened at 7), the blowout risk is a little lower considering the quality of the opponent. Paul is averaging 1.5 DK points per minute, trailing only Westbrook (1.8) and Harden (1.7) this season. Lowry is an above average defender, but Paul isn’t impacted by matchups too much.

Memphis Grizzlies @ Charlotte Hornets

Vegas: Hornets -6, O/U: 194

Charlotte is tenth in the league for pace, which means they are playing a tad faster than last season. Memphis is still one of the slower teams in the league with a rank of 28. Charlotte is twelfth in scoring and Memphis 26th, so both teams are in line with their pace. Memphis has allowed the fourth fewest points per game with Charlotte in eleventh, so this is a game that should be low scoring thanks to two solid defensive units.

Ok guys, We are going to talk about the late slate ONLY here. I am not a fan of no late swap as you know, and I am not going to talk about the early games and have some late scratch screw you guys over since your money is locked up all day and we have no news. The late breaking NBA news is so important and because of it I cannot recommend playing all day games here. With that in mind, here is who I like for tonight’s slate.

Point Guard

Russell Westbrook - No surprise here. On a small slate it is tougher to fade a high priced guy like Westbrook. On larger slates you can find guys at 50-60% of his price that can get 60-70% of his production.
