**This looks like a stars and scrubs night to me.**
Russell Westbrook -- The back end of a back-to-back shouldn’t be too much of a concern for a guy that might be in better shape than anyone else in the league. He’s coming off of one of his best games of the year where he scored over 40 points and had a triple-double. He’s my second-favorite guy to pay up for (next to Harden) and is good for both tourneys and cash games.
***Note: Due to injuries, Vegas has yet to release lines for certain games. They will be posted once the lines are released.
Orlando Magic @ Indiana Pacers
The Pacers are the tenth ranked team in terms of pace and they like to play fast. The Magic are the opposite and rank 26th in terms of pace. Indiana is the sixth highest scoring team in the league while the Magic rank dead last. The Pacers give up the second most points in the league with Orlando sitting in the middle of the pack. The pace upticks the Pacers, but the lack of defense on both sides should benefit all.
I want to start with a note of caution. I am only writing up the four game slate that starts at 7PM Sunday, because I think locking up money in a 3:30 slate with no late swap and no news from the late game is too risky. We have been killing it here with the exception of late scratches and random stuff like that. Why take on the risk when we do not need to? Wait until the 7PM slate and hit it hard.
Los Angeles Lakers @ Minnesota Timberwolves
Vegas: Timberwolves (-3), O/U: 216
Pace: Lakers (5th) Timberwolves (20th)
Scoring: Lakers (3rd) Timberwolves (14th)
Points Allowed: Lakers (12th) Timberwolves (11th)
What's up y'all? This is the one and only RadThad with today's NBA article for Saturday, November 12th. We have a pretty hefty 11 game slate today. The games would be well over if I tried to list every juicy pick, so I'll settle for touching on a couple of my favorite plays from each game.
Indiana Pacers @ Philadelphia 76ers
Vegas: Pacers -4.5, O/U: 213
This game should feature a pretty good pace with the Pacers 8th in the league and the 76ers 13th. Indiana is the third highest scoring team in the league and faces a Philly defense giving up the eighth most points to their opponents. Indiana gives up the most points to their opposition, but the 76ers have struggled to score with the second lowest scoring average in the NBA. It’s a good spot for both teams here as the pace should be hot and neither one is good defensively.
Two quick notes before we get started here. Some of you asked me to do more on FanDuel and I get the sense that is where more of our subs are playing right now. Moving forward, I will write the article using FD pricing and mention some DK prices and plays along the way. It’s not a huge change, but I had been doing the opposite up to this point. The second thing I wanted to mention is the JJ Barea/Andrew Bogut situation. That sucked guys and I feel your pain. I had some nice rosters in tournaments and my cash game team with exposure to one or both guys. This kind of stuff will happen sometimes, especially with no more late swaps, on the major sites. It sucks, I agree, but that is why you have to be smart and use bankroll management. If you feel like you have too much money in play on any given night, the chances are you are well over the level where you should be. Err on the side of caution, so you can maintain your bankroll and be around long enough to make a big score.
All In (almost): Russell Westbrook -- I told you that until further notice I’d be playing Harden over Westbrook every slate that they are on together. Well, here’s your notice. This should be the spot that Westbrook goes off again. It should be a competitive game against one of the best teams in the east. His box scores are pretty deceiving and should not give you any cause for concern; the reason the minutes and production were lacking is because each of his last three games turned into blowouts. I’ll have Westbrook in most -- if not all -- of my lineups tonight.
