Vegas: (No line)

We have some major injury situations in this game, so Vegas is slow to post a line. What we do know is that Utah is a tough team to take guys again, because they play at the slowest pace in the league and allow the second fewest points. They are also 24th in scoring, so we should not expect this to be a high total game when the line does come out. For Charlotte, they are eleventh for pace, thirteenth for scoring, and allow the fifth fewest points to opponents. The big news here is that we have quite a few injury concerns that can change quite a bit of what may happen. George Hill missed the last game for the Jazz and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist left early for the Hornets.

Point Guard Paying Up: Damian Lillard -- It’s hard to get Lillard in for cash games since there are a couple other studs that are more likely to pay off their salary. In terms of upside, few can match Lillard. This game has a total projected at 219 points and this is my favorite guy to use in order to get exposure to it. The pace favors Lillard and we also like that he’s at home.

Vegas: Cavaliers -8, O/U: 207

The Hawks are seventh in terms of pace and the Cavaliers are 12th, so this should be a decently paced game. Cleveland is actually second in scoring at 112 per game with the Hawks a respectable 8th. Cleveland is around the middle of the pack for points allowed, while the Hawks have given up the sixth fewest to date. That makes this a pretty tough matchup on both ends.

I am not a huge fan of the Hawks players today, but would probably consider Dennis Schroeder as the one with the best matchup. Kyrie Irving is not known as a good defender, and Schroeder has been playing around 30 minutes and putting up 30+ fantasy points. I could see one of either Millsap or Howard also having a good game, but this is not a spot I want a lot of exposure to.

Point Guard

Top Option: Kemba Walker -- The Pacers are atrocious defensively this year with the WOAT backcourt of Jeff Teague and Monta Ellis. These guys can’t defend at all and it’s a big reason the Pacers are giving up more than 111 points per game. Kemba at home is a thing too. I might even fade Westbrook in cash in order to play Walker.

Vegas: Wizards -1, O/U: 216

The total on this game dropped from 224 down to 216. The spread also swung from Wizards +1 to -1. In terms of pace, the Wizards are 20th with the Rockets at 17th, so both teams are very close and neither benefits much. The Rockets score more points as they currently sit 7th in the NBA, but are also allowing a ton of points as they sit 8th for most points allowed. The Wizards are the opposite. They are 26th in scoring overall, but only allow the 16th most points as well. If anything, I would say this game is a bump up for the Wizards against one of the league’s worst defenses.

Here are my top plays today for this short four game NBA Slate on Sunday evening. The Lakers/Phoenix matchup is the only one with a close spread and a total over 200, so make sure you have some exposure to that one. Point Guard Isaiah Thomas - I love the sparkplug from the Celtics. He is scoring and assisting at will and playing some pretty big minutes. He is also cheaper than other top options on their teams and has been putting up those kind of numbers.

Pricing is pretty close on DK/FD, so if I don’t say otherwise just assume the guy I’m recommending applies to both sites. Benny takes a deep look on the slate every day that you can find a little earlier in the day and I’ll usually be doing a show or podcast on the bigger slates.

What's up y'all? This is the one and only RadThad with today's NBA article for Saturday, November 5. Last week was sort of a launching pad with regards to my NBA written content. Hopefully I provided you with some useful information. As the weeks go on, I hope to refine my process and add more data to back up my picks. In the meantime, let's get right to it.

This is an interesting matchup with a pretty high total. Washington played real fast last season, but so far are 20th in pace, 19th in scoring, and allowing the third most points per game. Atlanta is playing faster with the 10th best pace, while sitting 7th overall for scoring and 24th in the league for points allowed. Despite the early season numbers, Washington is favored here. In terms of Fantasy value, I like the Wizards prices a lot more than the Hawks pricing. With the exception of John Wall, every other Wizards starter is priced below $6000 on DraftKings. Marcin Gortat is a solid value at $5900. He has averaged over 30 fantasy points and nearly 40 minutes per game in his last two. Bradley Beal and Otto Porter have also played just shy of 40 minutes in each of their last two games, so these guys...
