Point Guard

Top Option: R. Westbrook -- As many of us predicted, Westbrook is averaging a triple double so far this season. That makes him actually UNDERpriced right now. Aside from that, he has the narrative of facing his old teammate (Durant) and is likely to be more aggressive than ever about putting up big numbers. Forget the narrative, as this is a matchup that is incredible for him with the pace that both teams will play at.

Sacramento Kings @ Orlando Magic

Vegas: Magic -1.5, O/U: 199.5

You might think this is a low total for this matchup, but so far this season we have seen both teams play extremely slow. The Orlando Magic are 19th in pace, which actually paces up the Sacramento Kings who are 27th. Both teams are in the bottom third of the league for offense as well. The Magic are only averaging 95 points while giving up about 105 per game. The Kings are the 21st ranked scoring offense at 100.8 and they are giving up over 102.5 per game as well. This is the smallest total by almost ten points today, so you really do not want a ton of exposure here.

Pricing is pretty close on DK/FD, so if I don’t say otherwise just assume the guy I’m recommending applies to both sites. Benny takes a deep look on the slate every day that you can find a little earlier in the day and I’ll usually be doing a show or podcast on the bigger slates.

Philadelphia 76ers @ Charlotte Hornets

Vegas: Hornets -12, O/U: 196

The 76ers play at the 11th highest pace so far this season and Charlotte remains one of the slower paced teams in the league at #20. Charlotte is much better defensively, with defense lacking in Philadelphia. It is easy to see why they spread on this one favors the Hornets. For Charlotte, the two main guys are Kemba Walker and Nic Batum. I like them both a little bit here, but am concerned they might not see their full minutes. I am looking at some of the cheaper guys because of this.

Vegas: Timberwolves (-14.5), O/U: 199.5 The Timberwolves are around average for pace and points allowed. Memphis has been one of the slowest for a few years now and are also solid defensively. This is not the lowest total on the board, but it is not near the highest either. The big news here is that Ricky Rubio is out. We are likely to see rookie Kris Dunn play a big role moving forward. He is pretty cheap and really did not do much after taking over for Rubio last game. If he is going to get a big minutes bump, he is an interesting option. One guy who did see a little bump in stats was Zach Lavine. Lavine will be asked to handle more and probably create more too. His price is not too high, and he has been returning 5-6X value.

Point Guard

Ty Lawson -- A regular in the rundown, but we’re still going to play him at this price when he’s playing 35 minutes. I don’t love this matchup for him to be honest, but on a short slate he still grades out as a good option.

Atlanta Hawks @ Sacramento Kings

Vegas: Hawks -7, O/U: 201

This should be a paced up game for the Hawks against a Sacramento team that plays fast and is lacking on the defensive end. Atlanta does have a solid defense, so it should be a slight tick down for the Kings. Despite the pace bump, I do not have a lot of faith in this Hawks roster. Dennis Schroeder is going to play loser to his ceiling game, but his price is also a tad expensive. I hate Paul Millsap in this matchup. Boogie Cousins has a tendency to get guys guarding him into foul trouble and I fear Millsap may be the next victim. If he has to go to the bench at some point, it will keep him from having value. The one guy I do have interest in is Dwight Howard.
