 Benny's Daily Hoops - 3/12
Posted by Benny Ricciardi on Sunday, March 12, 2017 - 11:20

This should be a fun slate despite only having five games. Four of the five have totals over 220 with spreads of 6 points or less. That means we have a lot of options. The only game that is not a good one for fantasy purposes is that Miami/Indiana game with a 205 total. The rest should all turn into high scoring shootouts.

Point Guard

Kyrie Irving - Kyrie has upped his scoring since the Kevin Love injury and now gets a high tempo game with a high projected total. Sure Patrick Beverley is a great defender, but the pace they play at still means opposing guards are doing work against them. Kyrie had 40+ in the first meeting and that was with Kevin Love active. In this one with no Love, I expect even more upside from a guy who has been tough to guard recently.

 Jefe's NBA Rundown - 3/11
Posted by Jeff Collins on Saturday, March 11, 2017 - 17:05

As always, the rundown is designed to give you an opinion on some different players or situations in the slate today. You need to be reacting to news throughout the day. Always keep an eye on Twitter for the most up-to-date information. The idea is not that you use ONLY players from this article to build your lineups, but rather ALL of our content and optimizer. If you’re trying to only use players under the “cash” section to build your cash lineups for instance, you’re going to have a hard time. Instead, use some of those players as building blocks and fill in around them.

Stars and scrubs approach tonight with how much value there is, and for me there’s not much difference between my cash and my GPP lineups since there’s value you can’t ignore. I’ve included contrarian plays that I think will be lower owned, but keep in mind that I’m going to prefer to hammer the obvious value in most cases, so the contrarian plays are a little more thin than usual. Since there are so many guys to cover, I’m not really going to provide much commentary and instead will focus on making sure you guys understand which players I’m highest on. The commentary would pretty much all be “these guys are hurt and this guy benefits because of minutes and expected usage” and that’s going to get really redundant. For commentary, please tune into the show with Thad and myself.

 Thad Houston's DFS Plays - 3/11
Posted by Thad Houston on Saturday, March 11, 2017 - 13:52

What's up y'all? We have 9 games on tonight's NBA main slate with another 3 games scheduled to tip off earlier in the afternoon. Between games getting canceled for condensation, strange player rotations and random player injuries, the past week has been a strange one. Something tells me that tonight will be no different. There's plenty of opportunity for us to "sweep the leg" tonight so let's get to it. You don't need me to tell you Nikola Jokic (47.4 fantasy points/game over his last 3 games) and DeMarcus Cousins (38.2 fantasy points/game over his last 3 games) are good at basketball so I'll try to stay away from some of the more obvious plays and look to point out some juicy picks here and there.

Point Guard

Cash: S. Livingston, M. Conley

Vegas: Cavs -5.5, O/U: 217

Cavs: 14th PAce, 3rd Scoring, 8th most points allowed

Pistons: 24th PAce, 25th Scoring, 6th fewest points allowed

LeBron James - I still prefer LeBron more in cash than tournament play, but he has boosted his production since Kevin Love went out. The problem is he never really goes nuts for 70+ fantasy points like you get sometimes out of other high priced stars like Westbrook, Harden, Boogie, or Giannis. The only other guy like that is Westbrook, and he has a tough matchup with the Spurs today. If I pay up in cash games it is likely for LeBron.

Chicago Bulls @ Orlando Magic

Vegas: Bulls -1.5, O/U: 203

Bulls: 22nd Pace, 23rd Scoring, 7th fewest points allowed

Magic: 19th Pace, 29th Scoring, 14th most points allowed

Jimmy Butler - Rondo and Wade are both listed as questionable. Without them playing, Butler’s usage rate skyrockets. The Bulls will have guys like Paul Zipser and a crew of Jerian Grant and Denzel Valentine playing big minutes if those two sit. That makes Butler the main offensive threat on the perimeter. He produces across the board stats and would be a solid play here again.

Robin Lopez - The big guy is a tad too cheap. He saw 30+ minutes last game and was the second best option on the Bulls. His price is really cheap, so a 6-7X return is not out of the question.

Notes: Jerian Grant and Cameron Payne at minimum price are interesting punt plays if Rondo and Wade sit. Both guys had about 25 fantasy points last game in about 24 minutes each at minimum price.
