Portland Trail Blazers @ Oklahoma City Thunder

Vegas: Thunder -6.5, O/U: 222

Blazers: 10th Pace, 7th Scoring, 5th most points allowed

Thunder: 7th Pace, 12th Scoring, 9th most points allowed

Russell Westbrook - This is a paced-up game for Westbrook against a suspect defense that allows a ton of points to opposing point guards. YIKES, talk about a dream matchup. On a short slate it is so hard to fade the likeliest high scorer and that is what Westbrook is, but allow me to play devil’s advocate here. He has not dominated the Blazers this year like you would expect from the matchup data.

 Jefe's NBA Rundown - 3/6
Posted by Jeff Collins on Monday, March 6, 2017 - 17:23

As always, the rundown is designed to give you an opinion on some different players or situations in the slate today. You need to be reacting to news throughout the day. Always keep an eye on Twitter for the most up-to-date information. The idea is not that you use ONLY players from this article to build your lineups, but rather ALL of our content and optimizer. If you’re trying to only use players under the “cash” section to build your cash lineups for instance, you’re going to have a hard time. Instead, use some of those players as building blocks and fill in around them. Point Guard Cash: Conley, Rose, Hill, Lawson

Miami Heat @ Cleveland Cavaliers

Vegas: Cavs -8, O/U: 215

Heat: 20th pace, 24th scoring, 5th fewest points allowed

Cavs: 14th PAce, 3rd scoring, 9th most points allowed

Goran Dragic - The Miami point man has an ideal matchup against Kyrie Irving. Kyrie is not good at stopping anyone and Cleveland in general is not good at stopping pick and rolls. Goran Dragic should be able to get into the lane at will and create for himself and his teammates. I see a big upside game for him against a suspect defense that allows a lot of points.

Hassan Whiteside - These two just played, although it was against the Cleveland B-Squad. Whiteside did have a monster game going though. He had 20 points and 13 boards while not playing his full minutes due to the 20+ point blowout here. LeBron and Kyrie are back for this one, so the game should stay close this tie. Whiteside has an ideal matchup too, so we could see him go off for a monster game here in 34-36 minutes.

We will be breaking down the five game main slate here.

Point Guard

Russell Westbrook - The price is sky high, the pace matchup against one of the slowest teams in the league is not ideal, but can you really feel good about fading this guy? He is over 70 fantasy points in 9 of his last 12 games. He dropped 63.5 fantasy points the last time these two matched up which included 45 real life points and no double-double. With Oladipo still out, he is the only offensive weapon for them that can create his own shot or create shots for teammates.

Toronto Raptors @ Washington Wizards

Vegas: Wizards -5, O/U: 208

Wizards: 12th Pace, 7th Scoring, 15th fewest points allowed

Raptors: 23rd Pace, 5th Scoring, 8th Fewest points allowed

These two teams just played last time out and they are heading in opposite directions. The Wizards are on fire right now and the Raptors are struggling since losing floor general Kyle Lowry.

John Wall - Do not let that last game scare you off. The Wizards were up big at one point in that game and the starters all saw a few less minutes. Wall still managed to put up 40 fantasy points. Give him those extra 5-6 minutes back and it would have been another solid 50+ effort.

Instead of listing every single player on a slate like this, I’ll try to organize the article in a way that shows you the guys that I’m most interested in. I’m not even afraid to tell you guys exactly the players that I have the most exposure to (at the end of the article).

Golden State Warriors @ Chicago Bulls

Vegas: Warriors -7.5, O/U: 219

Warriors: 2nd Pace, 1st Scoring, middle of the pack for points allowed

Bulls: 22nd Pace, 22nd Scoring, 7th fewest points allowed

Draymond Green - With KD out, the Warriors whole philosophy changes. We now have more minutes, shots, and usage up for grabs. Draymond had a big game against the Wizards last time due to his ability to pass and set up his teammates. Dray is second in assists to only LeBron James for non-point guards this season. He always rebounds and will chip in 10-15 points a game as well. He stuffs the stat sheet across the board and the Warriors are going to need him to do more without KD.
