 Scott's NBA By The Numbers - 11/12
Posted by Scott Christensen on Sunday, November 12, 2017 - 08:25

Hey, what's up, guys! One thing to note about today's NBA action is that DK and FD are handling the slate differently. DK has one main slate that includes all four games while FD has an early slate of 2 games and a night "main" slate of 2 games. As a result, FD pricing is, in general, significantly higher than DK pricing, though not for several Celtics players (which we should take advantage of on FD).

 Scott's NBA By The Numbers - 11/11

Hawks: We need to be careful with the Hawks in this one. They're coming off a tough loss to Detroit and now traveling for this game against the Wiz. The Wiz are 11-point favorites, which honestly feels a bit low to me.  The Hawks are well coached and they play hard but there's only so much you can do with limited talent.

 Jefe's NBA Rundown - 11/10
Posted by Jeff Collins on Friday, November 10, 2017 - 15:44

The rundown is designed to give you an opinion on some different players or situations in the slate today. You need to be reacting to news throughout the day. Always keep an eye on Twitter for the most up-to-date information. The idea is not that you use ONLY players from this article to build your lineups, but rather all of our content from other articles, to our cheat sheets and videos along with our projections algorithm and optimizer. If you’re trying to only use players under the “cash” section to build your cash lineups, for instance, you’re going to have a hard time. Instead, use some of those players as building blocks and fill in around them.

  • Vegas: Pistons -8, 208
  • Hawks: 9th pace, 23rd scoring, 26th points allowed
  • Pistons: 21st pace, 16th scoring, 8th points allowed

Hawks: So the frontcourt for this team is really banged up right now. Ersan and Miles Plumlee are definitely out and it is doubtful we see Mike Muscala here. That’s three guys out in an already thin frontcourt. Dewayne Dedmon has played over 30 minutes twice this year scoring 31 and 42 fantasy points. With all the injuries, I would expect to see big minutes from him again and he is still dirt cheap. The only other big men they have on the roster are rookie John Collins and Luke Babbitt. Collins is interesting, but priced higher than Dedmon and seeing fewer minutes. As for the perimeter players, this is basically Dennis Schroeder’s team now. He’s playing 30+ minutes, has a usage rate just shy of 30% and is taking 15 or more shots per game. On the wings you have guys like Bazemore, Prince, and Bellinelli all contributing. Bazemore is my favorite because I like his offensive game more than Taurean Prince’s. The best value though is Bellinelli. He’s under $4K on DraftKings and all three are basically 25-35 fantasy point players to me. The best upside is with the discount Belli offers.

  • Vegas: Wizards -10, 221
  • Lakers: 3rd pace, 17th scoring, 20th points allowed
  • Wizards: 8th pace, 3rd scoring, 24th points allowed

Lakers: In terms of pace and defensive prowess, the Wizards are a team that does play fast and gives up points. With Larry Nance out, we have the minutes consolidated for some of these Lakers. Lately, we have seen Lonzo Ball play 35+ minutes a game, yet his production is not great. He does contribute in every category, but some of those shooting numbers are dreadful. He has averaged 14 shots a game but only managed 6, 9, and 9 points in his last three. That is what is keeping him from making value. He is shooting under 25% from the floor in his last three games, so the minutes are there, the price is cheap, but the kid needs to start putting the ball in the basket. The other starters are all also playing 35ish minutes a night. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is back to full health and he is seeing that many minutes the last few games. He is cheap but very scoring dependent. HE does not give you much outside of actual points scored. Kyle Kuzma is playing big minutes after Nance went down too. Julius Randle is still a better per minute contributor, but they are not giving him big minutes. The minutes for the forwards are being dominated by 35+ a night from both Kuzma and Ingram. I much prefer Ingram to Kuzma at this point. The prices are about the same and the production is just better all around for Ingram. He has a higher usage rate and more shot attempts, plus he is a few hundred cheaper on DK so he is the better option for me. The pure GPP option is Brook Lopez. Lopez can score and this is a high total game. He is not a big-time rebounder and is a terrible defender. Fantasy wise though, he had produced some nice games before crapping the bed last time out. He’s that guy I have zero exposure to, but would not be shocked if he had a big game. If you are doing a big 100-150 lineup kind of build, he’d be someone I had some exposure to.
