 Bryce's NBA Rundown - 4/8
Posted by Bryce Mauro on Saturday, April 8, 2017 - 13:30

As always, the rundown is designed to give you an opinion on some different players or situations in the slate today. You need to be reacting to news throughout the day. Always keep an eye on Twitter for the most up-to-date information. The idea is not that you use ONLY players from this article to build your lineups, but rather ALL of our content and optimizer. If you’re trying to only use players under the “cash” section to build your cash lineups for instance, you’re going to have a hard time. Instead, use some of those players as building blocks and fill in around them.

Point Guard

Russell Westbrook - This is not an ideal matchup by any stretch of the imagination, but does that even matter with this guy? Westbrook is the stud of all studs, a guy who is about to not only pass Oscar Roberson for the most triple doubles in a single season, but also someone who is about to pass Wilt Chamberlain for all time triple-doubles. We are in the middle of witnessing greatness here people and he is still the most likely high scorer at the position. There is enough value to make it work today if you want him.

Orlando Magic @ Cleveland Cavaliers

Vegas: Cavs -9, O/U: 220

Magic: 14th Pace, 27th scoring, 10th most points allowed

Cavs: 16th Pace, 4th scoring, 11th most points allowed

JR Smith - He is the best play based on price and projections. JR is back, yet his price is still $4100. He had a couple games in the mid 20s before exploding for 30+ last time out. At $4100, That is a floor of 6X with upside of 8-10X. Too cheap to ignore.

The big 3 - LeBron is the safe cash game play for me. I prefer Kyrie to Kevin Love as Love is still nursing his injury and rounding back into shape. No one else on this team really looks like they will hit value outside of the four mentioned. JR is the safest at his price, but Lebron and Kyrie are the next most likely to go off for a big number.

The NCAA national championship game is tonight and we only have one NBA game on the slate. Some sites have this game linked with some early games tomorrow for a random five game slate. I will not be playing it to be honest. This time of year we have seen a ton of random shit happen before lineups lock each night. I do not want to lock up money on Monday not knowing what is going to happen on Tuesday. My recommendation is to play MLB today or take a night off, but if you choose to ignore me, I will do my best here to try to steer you in the right direction.

Portland Trail Blazers @ Minnesota Timberwolves

Vegas: Wolves -1.5, O/U: 217

Blazers: 12th Pace, 6th scoring, 5th most points

There is so much going on today in sports that I do not want to overload you guys. I also do not want anyone locking in lineups at 3:30 for an all day slate in NBA at this time of year. If the news flow lately and the talk of guys sitting out is not enough to convince you the risks of locking up money on all-day lineups is not worth it, I do not know what will. My job is not only to give you guys the information you need about who to play, but it also involves keeping you away from making mistakes about what tournaments to play and how. Without that aspect of it, you can’t be profitable long term. With that being said, if you are a fellow degenerate and need to play the early slate, make sure you play the 3:30-only turbo one. Thad and I will be doing a Livestream at 3:30 for the main slate, so let’s concentrate on crushing that one today.

There’s still some decent profit potential here, though...

 Thad Houston's DFS Plays - 4/1
Posted by Thad Houston on Saturday, April 1, 2017 - 14:22

There's a saying that goes, behind every great DFS slate it a crappy one. Okay, that might not actually be a saying but it sure should be. After getting spoiled with an 11 game NBA slate last night we have to settle for a 5 game NBA slate on Saturday (and a split one, to boot). The main slate on FanDuel includes all of the games that tip off after 5 PM, while DraftKings added the 4 PM EST game to its main slate. No matter what main slate you choose, you should be sure to temper your bankroll management accordingly. There's a good chance that your lineup's success will depend on choosing correctly between Meyers Leonard or Noah Vonleh and that's never really a good thing. There's another saying that goes, a four game slate is better than a no game slate. Let's have at it...
