 Jefe's NBA Rundown - 3/31
Posted by Jeff Collins on Friday, March 31, 2017 - 17:08

As always, the rundown is designed to give you an opinion on some different players or situations in the slate today. You need to be reacting to news throughout the day. Always keep an eye on Twitter for the most up-to-date information. The idea is not that you use ONLY players from this article to build your lineups, but rather ALL of our content and optimizer. If you’re trying to only use players under the “cash” section to build your cash lineups for instance, you’re going to have a hard time. Instead, use some of those players as building blocks and fill in around them.

Denver Nuggets @ Charlotte Hornets

Vegas: Hornets -2, O/U: 220

Nuggets: 8th Pace, 3rd scoring, 4th most points allowed

Hornets: 19th Pace, 15th scoring, 12th fewest points allowed

Nikola Jokic - I am not in love with the price or his lack of consistency, but the guy can put up monster games. The Charlotte frontcourt is weak, so this is an excellent spot for him.

Denver Notes: We need to see how the injury news with Plumlee and Barton ends up. If both sit, we bump up guys like Gallo and Chandler who should see more minutes. Even a guy like Kenneth Faried off the bench gets a minutes and usage bump in that situation. Gary Harris continues to see big minutes and Jameer Nelson alternates good and bad games. This is actually not a bump in scoring or pace for the Nuggets, so the matchup is not ideal.

Brooklyn Nets @ Detroit Pistons

Vegas: Pistons -6, O/U: 213

Pistons: 23rd Pace, 26th scoring, 6th fewest points allowed

Nets: Fastest pace, 13th scoring, most points allowed

Ish Smith - The price has risen, but not too much to pull me off of him. Reggie Jackson is questionable and this is a better play if he does sit again. R-Jax played last week when these two teams met and Ish still took more minutes and finished with 38 fantasy points on DK. That would be over 6X on his price today. The Nets are the best possible matchup for the opposition and everyone produces against them.

Atlanta Hawks @ Philadelphia 76ers

Vegas: Hawks -1.5, O/U: 209

Hawks: 9th Pace, 21st scoring, 10th fewest points allowed

76ers: 5th Pace, 24th scoring, 8th most points allowed

Dwight Howard - Big men dominate the 76ers. Brook Lopez last night being the latest example. Howard has upped his game with Millsap out. Combine the two here and he has a big shot at another 40-50 fantasy point performance.

Ersan Ilyasova - The big man has done well filling in for Millsap and should play well again here. He has 35+ point potential and a solid floor around 30, based on his minutes lately. For the $6K price, we can live with that.

Milwaukee Bucks @ Charlotte Hornets

Vegas: Hornets -3, O/U: 203.5

Hornets: 19th Pace, 14th scoring, 10th fewest points allowed

Bucks: 24th Pace, 18th scoring, 9th fewest points allowed

Kemba Walker - Kemba has been playing out of his mind recently. He is also home, where he plays about 5 fantasy points better than he does on the road. Milwaukee has been weaker against the point guard spot since Giannis slid over to defending forwards when Parker got hurt, so I like this spot for Kemba.

Cody Zeller - Zeller has been the most consistent big man for the Hornets lately and returns the best bang for the buck. Milwaukee struggles defending bigs and has all season, so this is a soft spot. I prefer him over Kaminsky and Marvin Williams.

 Bryce's NBA Rundown - 3/26
Posted by Bryce Mauro on Sunday, March 26, 2017 - 14:34

Sunday slates can get tricky. No shootarounds and limited availability of info make them challenging. In addition to that, FD and DK have split their slates completely differently. Today seems more of a “studs and duds” type of approach on Fanduel; while on Draftkings, more of a midrange approach is suggested. Ryan Anderson is out for the Rockets today, which opens some value in Eric Gordon and Lou Williams. Either Harden or Westbrook is a must, and it’s possible to get both.
