 Jefe's NBA Rundown - 11/2
Posted by Jeff Collins on Thursday, November 2, 2017 - 17:16

The rundown is designed to give you an opinion on some different players or situations in the slate today. You need to be reacting to news throughout the day. Always keep an eye on Twitter for the most up-to-date information. The idea is not that you use ONLY players from this article to build your lineups, but rather all of our content from Benny’s article, to our cheat sheets and videos along with our projections algorithm and optimizer. If you’re trying to only use players under the “cash” section to build your cash lineups for instance, you’re going to have a hard time. Instead, use some of those players as building blocks and fill in around them.

  • Vegas: Warriors -7, 216
  • Warriors: 6th pace, highest scoring, 28th points allowed
  • Spurs: 25th pace, 27th scoring 5th points allowed

Warriors: This is such a small slate that it’s less important to get the best value options and more important to look at just straight maximizing points. That means we are probably going to have to consider A Steph Curry or Kevin Durant since the Warriors do have the highest team total on the board. Kawhi is going to still be out for this game, so the spot is very soft for Durant. Curry is a $700 discount on DraftKings though and I am more likely to play Curry on DraftKings due to the position flexibility and his ability to rack up those 3-point bonuses. The easier values to fit in are Klay Thompson and Draymond Green. I do not mind either of them to be honest. The good news is we know where the production comes from on this team and it is only those four guys that get it. The bad news is none of them are cheap, so you are going to have to pick and choose your favorites. For me it’s Steph and Dray today.

Point Guard

Jarrett Jack ($4,700 DK, $5,200 FD) - Jarrett Jack retains the Knicks starting point guard role as the team has gone 3-0 since installing him as the starter. Jack has played 26, 34, and 32 minutes in those games, racking up assists and generally performing well. He’s not shooting much, but he’s been a decent scorer over the years,

Benny's NBA DFS Cash Game Breakdown - 11/1
Posted by Benny Ricciardi on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 - 17:01

We wanted to add some more content to the NBA product and one of the places we felt could use some more discussion is our cash game plays for the day. Cash games should be the bread and butter of those trying to grind out a profit. With the prize pools becoming more and more top heavy, I find myself leaning more on cash games for consistent profits and using my GPP teams for the big bankroll boosts from time to time. We talk a lot about plays that can help you win a tournament, but many of those are a little too volatile for cash game play. We want the safety of nice floors here in cash and you will see the names of some underpriced consistent producers on this list near daily. Let's take a look at some of the solid cash game plays on DraftKings today based on price and potential production.

Indiana Pacers @ Cleveland Cavaliers

Vegas: Cavs -11, 216

Pacers: 9th pace, 5th scoring, 22nd points allowed

Cavaliers: 15th pace, 14th scoring, 26th points allowed

Pacers: Myles Turner remains out for the Pacers. That’s the only big news here. It means we should continue to see a lot of Domantas Sabonis and an uptick in minutes for Thad Young. This is a back-to-back for the Pacers, but the starters sat most of the fourth quarter in an easy victory last night, so I still think we see full run for them. I like the guard pairing of Darren Collison and Victor Oladipo here. Both guys have soft matchups. The two defenders you want to avoid on the Cavs are LeBron James and Jae Crowder. The way they have played lately, that means guys like Bojan Bogdanovic and Thad Young are not going to have easy matchups here. Collison on the other hand draws Derrick Rose defense. Picking on Rose has been profitable for years. Thad is the better price of the big men here, but I think I would prefer Sabonis. Thad is a consistent 25-30 fantasy points which is not going to kill you, but is not going to help you get to the upside either. Sabonis has been the guy more likely to grab a double double and the matchup on the interior is a soft spot for him. I know they are a big underdog here, but this Cavs D has been suspect and giving up tons of points.

Russell Westbrook ($11,200 DK, $11,100 FD) - Westbrook just continues to get the job done for the OKC Thunder, taking only a small step back in terms of shot volume but maintaining elite peripheral stats, averaging nearly a triple-double once again (20.8 PPG, 9.8 RPG, 12.2 APG).

Sacramento Kings @ Indiana Pacers Vegas: Pacers -5.5, 210 Kings: 26th pace, 28th scoring, 16th points allowed Pacers: 5th pace, 5th scoring, 26th points allowed Kings: This is by far the hardest game for me to write up on this slate. You look at that Sacramento roster and everyone is cheap. You look at the pace and the bad defense of the Pacers and you think there has to be some good plays here right? Right? In theory the answer is absolutely, but who do you really want to use? Even last game with Zach Randolph out, you did not get anyone hitting value. Cauley Stein sucked, Skal Labissiere sucked, even De’Aaron Fox without George Hill pretty much sucked. This team has very little talent and even at rock bottom prices, they are not really that good. If Zach Randolph sits the minutes should go up for WCS and Skal. Both guys only saw half a game last out, but they did lose that one by 30 points. Many expected those two to reach value with some added minutes, so I guess we have to go back to that well here. I honestly have zero top plays from this side of the game and even on a four game slate I might end up with little to no exposure to the Kings.
