 Intro to CFB DFS
Posted by Russell Clay on Sunday, September 1, 2019 - 11:30

As we enter the college football season (and I join the GuruElite team), an intro is in order. With college football DFS taking a few season hiatus, it’s fair to surmise that a solid chunk of folks has very limited or no experience with the format.

Listed below are some basic guidelines to keep things in balance as experience is built...

New Year’s Day Bowl Game Preview
Posted by Russell Clay on Tuesday, January 1, 2019 - 08:59

That time of the year is finally here! There’s football almost every day of the week (NFL or College), and this will result in a much higher volume of slates per week. The mid-week college football slates can be extremely advantageous to those who do the research.

Happy New Year everyone! As we enter 2019, there’s a fun slate of games ahead. It’s certainly not a prospect slate from a DFS perspective, but the matchups are solid and there should be some close games. The variance to the 2018 bowl season with a lot of teams losing their best players (to the NFL draft) has shifted to more blowouts, but overall, that shouldn’t be too much of a factor on this slate...

New Year’s Eve Bowl Game Preview

We’re almost to New Years and that means even bowl season is waning. But fear not, there are ten games over the next two days, and plenty of good action to come before we get to the National Championship game. New Year's Eve sets up to be a relatively low scoring slate, but with some major players sitting out (Kelvin Harmon and Damarea Crockett to name two), there should be some players stepping into much more prominent roles in their offenses...

In terms of watch-ability, this should be the best day of matchups this bowl season has seen. Not only do we get the first round of College Football Playoff games, but the three other games on Saturday have their own set of intrigue. Strong defenses and high profile prospects all around this weekend, we’re in for a wild weekend.

 Scott's Friday Bowl Preview
Posted by Scott Bondar on Thursday, December 27, 2018 - 20:00

What up Mafia!!!, we have another 3 game slate on FanDuel and DraftKings. This article will break down each team’s skill players and provide my recommendations on which player can be used in DFS.

These three games have a ton of potential for points and, on paper, look to have some high scoring contest. The bad news is that a few NFL caliber players are resting and preparing for their next chapter in life. That means we will get some backups in new roles and some opportunities to exploit the matchups.

***NOTE: news breaks 10-15 minutes prior to these games, players sit last minute.***

 Wednesday Bowl Games Preview
Posted by Russell Clay on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 - 05:07

The theme of this week (and going forward) is how teams will adjust with some of their best players declaring. Between Memphis running back Darrell Henderson and Houston defensive tackle Ed Oliver, there’s some serious adjustments teams and we have to make in assessing these matchups.
