 Week 9 Elite CB/WR Matchups
Posted by Joe Dolan on Thursday, November 2, 2017 - 15:30

This column is an early-week look at what WRs are looking better or worse than usual against their secondary counterparts. Few NFL teams use true shadow coverage anymore, but if a team does, or is employing a different strategy this week in particular, we’ll note it here.

For the most part, we’re not going to mention the truly great players (it’s always a good idea to play Antonio Brown), unless the situation is so bad that a stud should be an obvious cash-game play.

We also finish up with some sneaky TE and RB plays in the passing game.

This column will be updated later in the week when more information is available.

 Week 9 QB Breakdown
Posted by Ray Flowers on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 - 16:35

Each week on Tuesday, Ray Flowers will break down the quarterback position. There are a handful of signal callers that you always can feel confident in starting. We know the names. At the other end of the spectrum, there are a handful of quarterbacks you should never be starting. We know that as well. It’s the twenty quarterbacks in the middle that really matter. Ray will review the entire position each week letting you know which quarterbacks should be started and/or avoided on a weekly basis.

 Week 9 Kicker Recommendations
Posted by Mike Horn on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 - 13:06

Kicker scoring in Week 8 hit a season high, averaging 8.64 FP, edging Week 4 (8.61) and Week 6 (8.60).  The good week for kickers actually translated into a good week for the system:  this has been true in previous years but hadn't happened in 2017 until now.  "Starts" averaged an ass-kicking 13.4 FP, led by butt-kicker-in-chief Harrison Butker with 21 FP.  All "Starts" topped 7 FP.  "Marginal Starts" did very well with a 9.5 average FP and .667 winning percentage.  "Neutrals" were a little under the 7 FP/50-50 standards, with 6.8 FP and a 3-5 W_L record.  "Sits" were bad, which is good, scoring 5.3 FP, also posting a .667 success rate for the system:

High Priced

Kareem Hunt ($8,600 DK $9,000 FD) did not 100 total yards for the first time all season against the Broncos last week. He has not been able to find the end zone since Week 3 but has a nice match-up this week.  It will be interesting to see how Dallas reacts to the loss of Ezekiel Elliott

 Week 9 NFL Stat-Pack
Posted by Graham Barfield on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 - 16:23

In the weekly Stat Pack, I will go team-by-team and break down three key statistics that help explain the week that was. The attempt here isn’t to provide typical game recaps, but instead to provide forward-looking context about the games that may not be obvious.

 DFS Monday-Thursday Writeup: Weeks 8-9

Denver Broncos @ Kansas City Chiefs

Vegas: Chiefs -7, 42.5

Broncos: So this is honestly the matchup that probably decides this game: Everyone is wondering how the top ranked Chiefs offense fares against the #4 DVOA Denver defense, but if Denver’s 22nd ranked offense can not move the ball on the Chiefs dreadful 25th ranked DVOA defense, it might not matter what happens in the marquee matchup people want to see. The Chiefs have allowed the fourth most points to opposing fantasy quarterbacks and the most fantasy points to opposing wide receivers. So we fire up Trevor Siemian and the pass catchers right? I don’t know about that to be honest.
