TOR @ CBJ

Moneyline: CBJ -155

Total: O 5.5 -126

TOR Starter: Frederik Andersen, $7,200

CBJ Starter: Sergei Bobrovsky, $8,300

Really small slate here, and I won’t lie, I hate most of these games. Something feels off about them and I already hate my lineup for tonight. The Leafs have built a nice cushion in the playoff race, so this isn’t exactly a must win, but it would be nice.

OTT @ BOS

Moneyline: BOS -170

Total: U 5.5 -120

OTT Starter: Craig Anderson, $7,400

BOS Starter: Tuukka Rask, $7,900

Big slate tonight, so we’re going to keep things short and simple as usual. Or try to at least. The Bruins played last night and didn’t get the result they wanted. Tuukka Rask played outstanding, but was outduelled by Andersen. I imagine he goes again tonight, given they’re in a heated playoff battle and I’d take him. If it’s Khudobin, I’d steer clear and also would consider some Sens (Hoffman and Karlsson mainly). I’m avoiding Sens with Rask though.

BOS @ TOR

Moneyline: BOS -118

Total: U 6 -120

BOS Starter: Tuukka Rask, $7,800

TOR Starter: Frederik Andersen, $7,600

This is the biggest game of the night with huge playoff implications. The Leafs had the Bruins number all season and I don’t think that changes here. Boston’s main guys have been a little too hot lately and will start regressing at some point. I like David Krejci, who’s been playing very well lately, along with Torey Krug who’s so consistent on the backend, but other than that I’d lean with Toronto here.

I’m using some NHL advanced stats (just like we do for baseball), so here’s a little cheat sheet of what they mean:

QS%: Just like a pitcher deliver a quality start, so do goalies. It’s when the goalie achieves at least the mean save percentage (for the season) in a game.

GSAA: Goals Saved Above Average. You take the league average save percentage and apply it to the amount of shots a particular goalie has faced. You get a number of goals that the average goalie in the league would have surrendered, if they faced the same number of shots as the goaltender in question. That number gets compared to the number of goals surrendered by that goaltender, and a plus/minus is created.

GAA: Goals against average.

GFA: Goals for average.

SV%: Save percentage.

CF%: Corsi For / (Corsi For + Corsi Against)

COL @ CHI

Moneyline: CHI -320

Total: U 5.5 -131

COL Starter: Calvin Pickard, $6,800

CHI Starter: Scott Darling, $8,400

This is a trap game, but that doesn’t even matter when it’s Colorado. This is the highest moneyline tonight and one of the highest this season at -320. Chicago will be extremely popular tonight so you gotta decide if you want to fade them completely or grab the exposure because you have to.
