 Postseason Power Play - 4/22
Posted by Nick Rodriguez on Saturday, April 22, 2017 - 12:19

We’ve been smashing the first round of the playoffs, but this is a time for me to be honest with you guys. I’m not obsessed with this slate. A big reason why is because I’m not in love with any particular stack tonight. However, the lines on the cheat sheet are the lines I see scoring. The good news is that the cheat sheet is a lot smaller today...

PIT @ CBJ

Moneyline: PIT -188

Total: O 5.5 -126

CBJ Starter: Sergei Bobrovsky, $7,200

PIT Starter: Marc-Andre Fleury, $8,200

In my head I thought there was no reason not to stick with Malkin since he’s been killing it and he’s cheaper than Sidney Crosby. But with the price drop for Conor Sheary, the top duo is actually a cheaper stack than Malkin and Kessel. Something to think about, and I think I’d lean Crosby tonight. He was quiet last game and that usually means he goes big for the next one. Sheary has done very little, but we all saw how effective he can be next to Crosby – I have little doubt that line will get things going tonight. As Pittsburgh’s top D, I’m sticking with Justin Schultz again.

OTT @ BOS

Moneyline: BOS -156

Total: U 5 -110

OTT Starter: Craig Anderson, $7,300

BOS Starter: Tuukka Rask, $8,300

We’ve been on fire lately (check the past few articles for the receipts) and I can only imagine that magic doesn’t last much longer so ride it while you can here. The Bruins aren’t leaving Boston down 3-1 to the damn Senators I’ll tell you that much. I’m not paying for Rask, but I would greatly consider a lot of Bruins tonight.

PIT @ CBJ

Moneyline: PIT -115

Total: U 5.5 -110

PIT Starter: Marc-Andre Fleury, $7,800

CBJ Starter: Sergei Bobrovsky, $7,300

The Pens look nearly unstoppable right now and the Jackets will be in very tough without Werenski. Still, I expect them to take at least one from Pittsburgh, especially at home. Sergei Bobrovsky is way too cheap for what is probably a coin flip and considering he was the best goalie during the regular season. He has yet to steal one and he is primed to do so.

OTT @ BOS

Moneyline: BOS -162

Total: U 5 -120

OTT Starter: Craig Anderson, $7,300

BOS Starter: Tuukka Rask, $8,200

This game has the lowest total tonight so be weary of that. With all the injuries on defense that the Bruins are facing, I might be leaning towards the Sens here. I think there’s value with them and they shouldn’t be a popular play. Craig Anderson is one of the most affordable goalies tonight and that’s always a plus. He probably loses, but the value is there. Zack Smith has found his way to the top line and him with Mark Stone form a very cheap, but effective duo. Stone really hasn’t been the same since coming back from injury, but an assist last game might be what sparks him.
