MLB DG: How Much Does Age Matter?

Usually, when we talk age we break down players in three categories: rookies, old guys and the middle. We used to think that players had breakout efforts at age 27 (you remember that time?), but that line of simplistic thought has gone the way of the Furby. With players more mature and ready to contribute at a younger age than ever before, and teams willing to give youngsters full-time roles earlier than ever before, perhaps we need to change how we think of players when we’re judging them by their birth certificates?
